Support Annual Giving Capital Campaign PTO Publications |
WORKING TO MEET OUR $3.5 MILLION GOAL
In 2002 a group of trustees, alumni and parents made contributions that enabled the school to purchase 114 acres off Crownsville Road to build our Upper School Campus. In the Fall of 2006, we opened Indian Creek's new campus for college-bound young men and women. At the core of our 96,000 square foot building are a 435-seat auditorium and full-size gymnasium. The first floor houses the athletic program, performing arts, fine arts, the library/media center, technology center, administrative offices, and a full-service cafeteria. Twenty-nine classrooms along with three fully-equipped science labs line the second floor. The construction costs for the Upper School were $17 million. In 2003, the Board voted to move forward with a $3.5 million capital campaign to supplement the funds raised through debt to ultimately support the cost of construction. More than double the size of any campaign in the school's history and ambitious for any independent day school, the Taking Flight Campaign is 76% of the way toward achieving its objective. We are incredibly grateful to those who have already made generous contributions to the effort. Your gifts will continue to work in perpetuity to ensure our students' benefit from Indian Creek's nurturing and success-oriented environment for their PK-12 educational experience. While our capital needs are not yet fully funded, the generous support of parents, past parents, grandparents, alumni, Trustees, administrators, and faculty-totaling $2,650,000-gives us tremendous confidence that Indian Creek is on the right track and that this project will be transformational for the school. Passion, commitment, and generosity have made Indian Creek what it is today, and it is these characteristics that will inspire us to reach the goals that will define our future. In order to raise the remaining $850,000 to finalize the Taking Flight Campaign, we will be approaching all members of the Indian Creek community to ask for multi-year pledges of capital support over the next year. We need support at every level-no contribution is too small. We hope every family will join us, and participate in a way that is appropriate and meaningful to them.
