Job Title: Upper School Mathematics Teacher

Reports to: Upper School Principal

Description: Upper School upper level teacher of mathematics. He or she should be able to communicate mathematics both orally and in well-written sentences and should be able to explain solutions to problems; model a written description of a physical situation with a graph, diagram, equation, inequality, function, a differential equation, or an integral; use technology to help solve problems, experiment, interpret results, and verify conclusions; determine the reasonableness of solutions, including sign, size, relative accuracy, and units of measurement; develop an appreciation of advanced mathematics as a coherent body of knowledge and as a human accomplishment. Preference given to teacher who has knowledge of subject area content in Calculus, Algebra II, Geometry; normal adolescent behavior patterns; best-practice instructional methods and educational theory.

Minimum Qualifications include the following: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  1. Education – B.A. or B.S. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education. Masters preferred but not required.

Job Title: Director of Upper School Admissions

Reports To: Head of School

Description: Indian Creek School is an independent coeducational day school offering a broad curriculum in the liberal arts. Founded in 1973, in 2008-2009 the school will enroll 650 students in grades Pre-K through Twelve from diverse ethnic, racial, religious, and economic backgrounds.

The Director of Upper School Admissions will formulate, lead and implement all activities of the admissions office. The Director will annually develop a comprehensive, coordinated admissions program plan complete with goals, objectives, tools and evaluation methods for each of the following areas: marketing, student recruitment and public relations. Provide guidance in the cultivation of a positive image for the programs offered by the School. Manage operating budget for admissions.

Desired Qualifications: Master's degree and admissions office experience preferred. Computer literacy, database experience, word processing. Proven experience in marketing, public relations, and communications. Proven experience and comfort in working with Middle and High School aged students.

Title: Middle/Upper School Spanish Teacher

Reports to: Middle or Upper School Principal

Description: Middle and/or Upper School Spanish Teacher for 2008-2009. The successful candidate will have teaching experience at the middle or high school levels. A Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, or significant coursework in the subject, are recommended; a Master’s degree is preferred. The school day runs until 5:00pm, and strong applicants would also be willing and able to coach one or more interscholastic sports.

Reports to: Lower School Principal

Description: The candidate will be responsible for providing a nurturing and success-oriented environment for twenty second grade students, preparing lessons and instructing students, evaluating and keeping records of the academic growth of students, communicating with parents and holding parent conferences to discuss the individual pupil's progress, identifying pupil needs and collaborating with other professional staff members to help pupils achieve success, and being aware of the developmental variability in students. The candidate needs to hold Bachelor’s degrees and experience in elementary education is preferred.

Compensation: Salary ranges from $35,530 to $52,542 depending on experience and advanced degrees, and there is a generous and flexible benefit package.

Title: Upper School Receptionist

Reports to: Upper School Principal

Description: The Receptionist/Greeter makes first contact with people entering the building, emailing the school, or calling by phone. The Receptionist/Greeter will coordinate communications within the School, especially on the Upper School campus.

Main responsiblities include, but are not limited to: answering a multi-line telephone system, welcoming visitors, maintaining attendance and other records, entering data in electronic files, providing clerical support, operating office equipment, and other duties. This is a 12-month position; daily hours are from 9:00am-5:00pm or 9:30am-5:30pm.

Desired Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalency required; college study or degree preferred. Experience working in an educational environment preferred. Experience and comfort in working with High School aged students preferred.
